Climate Smart or Sustainable Technologies that Help Solve Challenges
This section contains short descriptions of technologies that show potential for helping to adapt or mitigate to climate change or which could improve sustainability.
I originally made the descriptions for a research project, and have included them on this site as they may serve as a convenient reference source. All descriptions are based on publicly available information. The list is far from comprehensive, but contains good examples of available and often feasible technologies that can make a difference. More will be added.

Climate Smart Technologies in Adaptation – Agriculture
Agricultural production is likley to be forced to undergo dramatic changes in order to cope with effects from cliamte change and to avoid negative impacts on the environment. Many technolgies and systems of technologies are available and feasible to implement.
Climate Smart Technologies in Adaptation – Coastal Resources
Coastal areas are under imminent threat from climate change and over-development. There are technogies available that can contribute to alleviating the negative impacts.
Climate Smart Technologies in Adaptation – Water Resources
Safe and abundant freshwater is a neccessity in all communities but is under increasing threat from effects of climate change, over-exploitation, and environmental impacts. Numerous technologies are available to mitigate these effects.
Climate Smart Technologies in Mitigation – Agriculture, Forestry & Waste
Agriculture is major GHG emitter, but technolgies are availbe to transform the agricultural sector into a climate frindly economic activity. Waste not only is a large source of GHG emissions, but can also be a resource for climate change mitigation
Climate Smart Technologies in Mitigation – Energy & Transport
Energy & transport are major GHG emission sectors. Technologies are developing rapidly to change this.
